Rupavahini is the state television broadcaster for Sri Lanka, it broadcasts a variety of shows in and news in the languages of Sri Lanka it was up until 2000 funded by a licence fee but now is mainly funded by advertising.
It still closes down each evening and starts broadcasting 05:18 Sri Lankan each morning with this start up.
At around 05:05 a Telefunken test card appears, with the stations ID, this plays through till 05:18 when a information card and the stations logo and name in three different languages appears.
Very basic after that, various shots of Sri Lanka with its people and finally ends with the a shot of the Flag of Sri Lanka.
Sorry for the poor standard of this video its was how it was broadcast and the brief write up to go with it, I just don't have much to say today.

Note that the musical medley begins and ends with the opening phrase of the national anthem, Sri Lanka Matha (Mother Sri Lanka).
