TV Koper Capodistria

TV Koper Capodistria is the Italian language channel of Radiotelevizija Slovenija of Slovenia, its transmitted in the the Koper/Capodistria region of Slovenia.

It is a bilingual channel in both Slovenian and Italian, and mainly serves to broadcast locally produced shows, news and sport for the region in both Italian and Slovenian.

The channel saw huge popularity in Italy in the 1970s, simply because RAI held a monopoly on broadcasting and was in PAL Colour, this stopped Italy adopting the SECAM standard since simply Italians just bought PAL sets so they could watch TV Koper Capodistria in colour, and private companies set-up repeaters outside the main broadcast region so more Italians could view.

Slovenia's broadcasts during the communist days which was then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were seen as less stuffy than the democratic broadcaster of RAI in Italy!

Right away from the history lesson....

This is a simple closedown just The Boy with a Flute rotating and the National Anthem of Slovenia and channel identification at the end.

The Boy with a Flute is a statue which stands in front of RTV Slovenija's main building in Ljubljana, and serves has RTVs mascot and emblem.

Hope you all enjoy....

To be strictly accurate, the statue is called "Boy with a whistle" (Deček s piščalko), by Zdenko Kalin (1911-1990).
