KCWY is a full powered broadcast television station on VHF Channel 13 with a radiated power of 10.9 kW's in the Casper, Wyoming market in the United States.
KSWY is also a full powered broadcast television station on VHF channel 7 with a radiated power of 9 kW's in the Sheridan, Wyoming market, and serves as a mirror of KCWY.
KCWY also has one low powered station and two translators/repeaters they are:
- KCHY-LP a low powered station on VHF Channel 13 which broadcasts to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
- K14LK a translator on UHF Channel 14 which broadcasts to Laramie, Wyoming.
- K30GV a translator on UHF Channel 30 which broadcasts to Riverton, Wyoming.
KCWY and all its translators/repeaters are NBC Television Network affiliates in their intended markets after originally signing on as a PAX affiliate on February 21st 2001, but after some dealing's became the NBC affiliate on September 1st 2003, more can be read about its history on Wikipedia here.
KCWY continues to sign-off/close down in the early hours of Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings.
KCWY brands itself News 13 even if the channel is not transmitted on VHF Channel 13 like on KSWY or their translators.
The Video
This video serves as a very simple way to identify the two stations and their translators/relays before sign-off and then into a simple SMPTE colour bars test card.
This is a simple video in its content and length but I guess that is all that is needed these days sadly, I just wish there was more.
Sadly no National Anthem video from KCWY, ah well.
Still I hope you all enjoy.
