VTV 1

VTV 1 is the first television channel of Vietnam Television, VTV 1 broadcasts on VHF channel 9 in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.

VTV 1 broadcasts news and current affairs type shows in the Vietnamese language.

Vietnam Television has an interesting history, television broadcasting in North Vietnam started on September 7th 1970 in Hanoi and took control of the South's television channels including the US military television after reunification in 1975.

Right onto the video, first of we see VTV's standard PM5544 test card, then at 5:30am into a computer generated graphic of a broadcast tower pointing to the star on the Flag of Vietnam and circles around it to represents broadcast emissions, the star flips into a star placed with Hanoi is on a map of Vietnam and then some 3D text over a rotating disc of some kind all to a instrumental copy of the National Anthem of Vietnam.

Now onto the 2nd video of the start up, then what I assume are Vietnamese Navy in dress uniform carrying the Flag of Vietnam and Goose-Stepping away as you do, to the flag pole to raise the flag, the flag is raised and thrown into the wind by one of the Navy men.

Then starts to play a vocal copy of the National Anthem starts to play, pans out from the flag and transitions into a distant shot of the flag flying in the wind.

Shots of the Navy Band playing the anthem, children saluting the flag, then into a what on today graphics and finally the graphics turn/morphs into an awesome I guess graphic logo/ident for VTV 1.

This is the first of I hope many videos from the Asia and Pacific region from SatDirectory which has kindly been donated this video and soon others to the blog, so I'd like to say thanks very much for that.

Over all this really does trump the start up aired by VTV 4 that I featured when I first began this blog.

Also I would like to direct people to Zachary Harden's Blog, Zach who has commented here recently has wrote an article on how the National Anthem is aired on Japanese Television so give it a read.

I hope you all enjoy.
