AzTV

AzTV is the state television broadcaster in Azerbaijan.

AzTV broadcasts a wide variety of shows in the Azerbaijani language, mainly news, musical shows and documentaries.

AzTV broadcasts to Baku the capital of Azerbaijan on VHF Channel 3 with a radiated power of 23kW's using I think the SECAM standard.

AzTV also has a series of relays across the country, but can also be seen across the whole of Europe and most of North Africa and parts of the Middle East on Hot Bird 6 satellite at 13.0°E.

AzTV stands for Azərbaycan Televiziyası or in English Azerbaijan Television.

AzTV does not close down often, but continues to play this national anthem video sometime before the start of their new broadcast day.

I am assuming like other former Soviet republics and their satellite countries, AzTV can probably trace its history to the mid 1950's but I have no way of proving this.

The Video

This video starts with an ident for AzTV, then the National Anthem video starts, which has the outline of Azerbaijan, The Flag Waving, Coat of Arms and National Anthem throughout with various videos of Azerbaijan.

Finally their digitally created clock leading into the 8am hour with if I remember right a newscast.

I hope you enjoy.

  1. The lyrics are also in white when the anthem portion starts. Also, a lot of video of the deceased Heydar Aliyev and of his son, Ilham, are present in the video. State law, as I would guess, has the anthem twice a day at 2400 and 0600, which can be seen at http://www.meclis.gov.az/?/az/topcontent/22
