Moldova 1 is the first channel of TRM which is the state owned broadcaster of Moldova.
TRM stands TeleRadio Moldova.
Moldova 1 with most state / public broadcasters provides a varied service from news to movies in the Moldavian which is basically Romanian language.
Moldova 1 broadcasts on VHF Channel 3 on the Străşeni TV Mast and has a large network of relays through out the whole of Moldova as well as on cable, satellite and worldwide via web streams.
Moldova 1 continues to close down at around 1am Moldavian time with this fantastic video.
I think I'll leave this video speak for itself other than first we see a ident of Moldova 1, the National Anthem playing and the Flag seen throughout and the Coat of Arms at the beginning and end.
And we end with Moldova 1's UEIT test card which was designed in the Soviet era, this test card is personally my favourite test card, yeah I know I'm nuts.
Hope you all enjoy.

Southern Sudan Television
Southern Sudan Television is a new satellite television channel for Southern Sudan.
Southern Sudan is an autonomous region in the country of Sudan, this is a result of a long Civil War, with plans of a referendum in 2011.
Southern Sudan Television broadcasts on the Intelsat 12 satellite which is located at 45°E and Intelsat 12 covers all of Europe and I assume Southern Sudan, unless they have other distribution there.
I will leave the video speak for itself on the purpose of Southern Sudan Television because I don't think I can do it justice.
I hope Southern Sudan Television fulfil their purpose.
Good luck and enjoy.

CCTV-1
CCTV-1 is the first television channel from Chinas CCTV.
CCTV-1 broadcasts in the Mandarin language with a wide variety of programs from news, drama to education programming a real mixture.
CCTV or China Central TeleVision broadcast 18 different channels on a large variety of content, and in many languages.
CCTV-1 transmits on VHF Channel 2 in the capital Beijing and has a major terrestrial network across China, and all over the world via web streams.
CCTV-1 operates a full 24 hour a day schedule but still airs the National Anthem before 6am, I am unsure if China has time zones split broadcasts for various regions since the size of the country is so large.
Until very recently the national anthem would be played out at 7:05pm since that was the start of the broadcast day when they first started broadcasting in 1958, CCTV moved the national anthem to 6am because a lot of Chinese complained it was not suitable to be played at 7pm in the evening as it was to sombre for that time of evening now.
CCTV-1 has its routes in experimental broadcasts which started in Beijing on May 1st, 1958. under the name of Beijing Television.
They changed their name to CCTV on May 1st, 1978.
May 1st if you did not know is International Workers Day or in the West it is known as May Day.
Right onto the video, first off we see a CCTV promo which in itself could be the actual start up video if it had the National Anthem, with CCTV logo and CCTV itself reaching all over China and to all its people, well that is what I make of the promo, if this blog has any readers who can understand what is being said please email me or leave a comment and correct me if I'm wrong in that assumption.
Now onto the actual start up video, The Peoples Republic of Chinas National Anthem the March of the Volunteers is surprisingly short.
I think this video is pretty self explanatory shots of soldiers saluting the Flag, people of China, Industry and Farming a Rocket launch, finally a shot of a large gathering in Tiananmen Square which fades into the Emblem and the end of the video.
Hope you all enjoy.

Oman TV2
Oman TV2 is the second television channel from Sultanate of Oman Television.
Oman TV2 does not seem to be broadcast terrestrially and I think is purely a satellite and cable channel, which starts it broadcast day at 4pm in Oman and closes at 1am.
Oman TV began broadcasting on 17th November 1974 from the capital of Oman Muscat.
Oman TV2 can be viewed all over the Middle East and parts of Europe on Badr 3 at 26°E, Atlantic Bird 4 at 7.2°W and Arabsat 2B at 30.5°E.
Now onto the video, this is actually a very simple start up video it features Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said sitting in a chair with the a computer generated Flag of Oman flying and the National Anthem playing to the end.
Thanks for reading and enjoy...

BRT-2 Start Up In Full
Magazine Review
First of I'd like to point out my blog was reviewed in the June Issue of What Satellite & Digital TV magazine which I believe will be in stores on Thursday 22nd of May, I have my copy already since its on subscription and arrives earlier than to stores.
So check it out, I have been a reader of What Satellite for years.
Thanks to Alex Lane of What Satellite for the review and the continued support.
Back to Business
Earlier this year I uploaded BRT-2 start up here, but the quality was so poor I promised I would bring their start up video in full another time.
Anyway for those who did not see the video that time or read the information here is a brief snippet and a few new things I have learnt.
BRT-2 TV is the second channel from the Turkish Northern Cyprus public broadcaster BRT and broadcast mainly in English, it closes down each night and starts up each morning.
BRT stands for Bayrak Radyo Televizyon or in English Flag Radio Television.
BRT-2 broadcasts on UHF from two transmission locations in Northern Cyprus and to the world on-line.
I would like to explain Turkey's military has a large presence in Northern Turkey, but I really do not want to go into the all issue of the Island of Cyprus.
First of we see a plain test card with BRT's logo and number 2, then start of the video, lots of shots of the Turkish military and the Turkish Flag and the Flag of Northern Cyprus flying together since its disputed which is the actual flag of Northern Cyprus, the north's government recognises the flag of Northern Cyprus yet the people see it as a state flag and the real flag is the flag of Turkeys.
Brief panning photo shot of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk the first president of Turkey, and people in the streets.
The National Anthem playing is of both Northern Cyprus and Turkey.
Anyway I am glad to finally bring to this blog a good quality version.
Thanks for reading and enjoy...

BBC One Wales 1995
BBC One Wales Close Down from the end of the broadcast day on Friday 17th of March 1995 in the early hours of Saturday 18th of March 1995.
This close down was recorded on the same day Comic Relief was held that year.
Thanks to "Alan D" for the use of this video, since I am Welsh and live in Wales I'd thought I'd share how it was done here in 1995 on BBC One Wales.
Sadly BBC One Wales like the other regional variations do not close down any longer simply airing BBC News, and BBC Two still Close Down without much note and into Pages from Ceefax on Weekends for an hour or so.
Not really much to be said about this video it it all pretty obvious.
Except it features the BBC One Wales clock of that time, then into the BBC One Wales Globe ident of that time with Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau the Welsh National Anthem playing then a short edition of God Save the Queen then pan to black level.
Enjoy.

BR Fernsehen
BR Fernsehen or in English BR Television is the local television channel in Bavaria, Germany from the local public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Bayerischer Rundfunk is funded by the German Licence Fee, show sponsorship and investments, as with all local broadcast television in Germany BR TV has no commercials, but allows show sponsorship, BR is a member of ARD.
Each German broadcast area has its own public broadcasting and control of the local airwaves, so each broadcast area has different channels on its Digital Terrestrial service other than the main public channels.
BR TV continues to closes down each night, although it continues to show Space Night which is a collection of shots from space with chill out music and informative films about Space itself through out the night.
Really interesting this close down video...
First we see the final BR ident of the night with the words Die Welt aus Bayern which means The World from Bavaria in English.
Now onto the really interesting stuff, first off take a look at the little flags flying in the video, it is the State Flag of Bavaria, and the State Anthem The Bayernhymne playing, the video shows various shots of Bavaria, Industry and People until the anthem is finished playing.
Now onto the 2nd video and anthem, this time of Germany itself, the little flags have changed to the German National Flag and now Deutschlandlied the National Anthem of Germany is playing.
The video starts with people in the Reichstag Dome and then various shots of Germany, People and the industry of Germany.
Well that must be it, Bavaria and Germany have been honoured for the night what else could there be....
But wait there is more, now what else could there be?
Now the European Union is honoured with the now a little Flags of the European Union, the European Anthem Ode to Joy playing and various shots of European Industry, Locations and People, very quick but its included.
Hope you all enjoy this interesting and diverse close down.

Adjara TV
Adjara TV is a local channel in Adjara. Adjara is a autonomous republic of Georgia.
Adjara TV broadcasts a variety shows from movies to locally produced shows and news.
Adjara TV started broadcasting in 1987 and broadcasts on UHF Channel 37 in Adjaras capital Batumi and in Tbilisi Georgia's capital on UHF Channel 21 with a power of 1Kw.
As with GPB Adjara TV continues to close down for the night and broadcasts this close down video and also broadcasts it at the start of the new broadcast day.
Not much to say really other that this was captured at Christmas so that's why there is Christmas idents and logo.
Just a computer generated Flag of Georgia and the Georgian National Anthem playing.
The new broadcast day starts at 8am Georgian Time (UTC +4).
Anyway enjoy.

KSL-TV Channel 5 Sign-Off
KSL-TV is a full powered broadcast television station on VHF Channel 5 in the Salt Lake City Utah market area and has repeaters/translators throughout Utah as well as parts of Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming which is known as the "Mountain West" on various frequencies.
KSL-TV is the NBC Television Network affiliate in the Salt Lake market, , and was the first station to broadcast HD newscasts in the Salt Lake market on its digital ATSC signal on UHF Channel 38.
KSL-TV continues to sign-off/close down early each Saturday and Sunday mornings.
I am unsure why KSL-TV feels the down time would best served airing a Test Card/Pattern than airing paid for infomercials.
Signing off is very unusual for broadcast television stations in the United States but it is not the only station in the Salt Lake Market that signs off, KUTV Channel 2 the CBS affiliate does so as well.
This is KSL-TV Channel 5's sign-off video from the end of the broadcast day of Saturday 3rd of May 2008 at 3am on the morning of Sunday 4th of May 2008 after a syndicated episode of ReGenesis.
First we see a time and weather check, this is done on the hour in the "Wee Small Hours" of the night.
Then the sign off video starts, this video serves as station identification which is mandated by the FCC, information on KSL-TV with video of KSL's news-team personalities and some lovely shots of Utah and surrounding areas.
The shots they have chosen of the countryside are stunning.
Then into a standard Test Card/Pattern and then layered over it is a KSL-TV logo also to serve as identification.
What I found very unusual was neither KSL-TV sign-off or sign-on mentions either the broadcast regulator in this case the FCC, its radiated power from its main high powered transmitter, or even play the National Anthem which is or atleast was kind of the norm in North America.
Call Sign Information
KSL-TV is one of a very few broadcast stations in United States with only a three letter call sign it was grandfathered from its sister radio station.
It's sister radio station KSL-AM signed on in 1922 before the beginning of the practice of the locations dictates where K and W licensed stations would be issued, although the K does confirm to this rule of stations west of the Mississippi River use K call signs for public broadcasts.
The "SL" in KSL stands for Salt Lake.
Anyway enjoy this video.

TVR International
TVR International or simply TVRi is the international channel of TeleViziunea Română or in English TeleVision Romania.
TVRi broadcasts on satellite freely to Europe, North Africa and Middle East on Hotbird 13°E, and on other satellites to Australia, North America and encrypted on other packages.
It simulcasts with the national TVR channels TVR1 and TVR2 when they have Romanian content and time delays for others.
TVRi does not close down at night since its an international channel and wants to cater for all audiences, but at 6am CET it airs this start up video.
Not much to say about this video, simply a computer generated Flag of Romania blowing in the wind, the Coat of Arms placed on to the flag with TVRs logo and the National Anthem playing through.
Hope you all enjoy..
