Magyar ATV is the oldest private television station in Hungary.
Magyar ATV orignally began broadcasting as Agro TV on January 2nd 1990.
Magyar ATV is required to broadcasting public service programs such as news, current affairs, sports, religion for 50% of its time.
Because of its public service status it is carried on all major cable and satellite packages in Hungary and as a specialist channel on some cable packages where large number of Hungarian speakers live, for example in Transylvania nearly all packages carry it.
I am unsure if it has any terrestrial analogue frequencies, but I believe it is carried on DVB-T encrypted.
Magyar translates into English as Hungarian, I guess they decided to take this name because there are a lot of ATV's in the world.
Magyar ATV does not operate a 24 hour schedule and closes around 1am each night.
The Video
We start with the final ident from Magyar ATV for the night.
Then some nice shots of Hungary's capital Budapest at night in various locations and filming view points, this looks to maybe of been filmed in early to mid nighties?
All this while the National Anthem of Hungary is playing through out.
I hope you all enjoy...
