RTB International

RTB International is the international channel from RTB in Brunei

RTB Stands for Radio Television Brunei, RTB is the state broadcaster for Brunei for both Radio and Television.

RTB International can be seen on the AsiaSat 2 satellite at 100.5°E in Asia on C-band as well as on-line internationally through a web-stream.

I believe RTB International broadcasts in the Malay and English languages and maybe one or two more? It airs shows produced by RTB that are aired on the terrestrial RTB's first and second television channels.

Television in Brunei began on March 1st 1975 with official broadcasts beginning n July 9th, I am unsure when RTB International launched.

The Video

I will let the video speaks for itself, it features the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah as well as various shots of the country, it features the Flag and National Anthem of Brunei.

To see the start up used across the border by RTM 1 in Malaysia which is also on the island on Borneo, click Here.

I hope you all enjoy....

TV Patriot

TV Patriot seems to be a local television station based in Žilina Slovakia.

TV Patriot produces a lot of local content, including regional reports and events, and also airs music videos.

TV Patriot can be seen on the Thor 5 satellite at 0.8°W in Europe as well as it seems terrestrially in the region on UHF Channel 55 and on local cable.

TV Patriot seems to be a member of regional broadcast group called "Spolupracujúce televízie" or in English Partner Television, I assume this is some sort of footage or content exchange.

This video is broadcast at around 00:00 local time daily even though they broadcast a 24 hour schedule.

The video features various wonderful shots of Žilina including the Budatín Castle all to the National Anthem of Slovakia.

If anyone has a copy of STV2 Slovakia close down, please email me it, I have been looking to grab a copy for many months.

Thanks and enjoy....

Sahar TV

Sahar TV is an international religious and political channel from IRIB in Iran.

The station broadcasts in the English, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Azerbaijani and Urdu languages

Sahar TV can be seen on two satellites one being Hot Bird 8 at 13°E which can be viewed in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and the other AsiaSat 3S at 105.5°E which covers South Asia.

Sahar TV is not technically available in Iran since there is a ban on satellite dishes, but satellite TV is widely watched.

IRIB stands for Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

I have seen many studio based panel talk shows and news broadcasts on the channel, I guess these are either political or religious based, although both do go together in Iran.

I will let this video speak for itself but it features the National Anthem and Flag of Iran.

Not much else to be said to be honest, I hope you all enjoy.

JOUH-(D)TV Sign On

JOUH-(D)TV is a commercial television station located in Kobe Japan.

JOUH-(D)TV is the independent television station serving the Kansai region of Japan.

JOUH-(D)TV is known on air as SUN-TV and you can see the sun featured in this video.

JOUH-(D)TV is a part of the Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations which is a group of independent television stations that sell, buy from and co produce programmings with each other but its not strictly a network.

These stations are normally the lowest rated in the area.

JOUH-(D)TV is a major part of the association and produces and sells a lot to the other stations.

These stations also get paid to broadcast certain shows including UHF Anime.

Anyway I like this cute little start up video with Sun-TV's sun rising, I guess their close down is the Sun setting....

I hope you all enjoy.

Newroz TV

Newroz TV is a Kurdish language satellite television station which operates from within Sweden by the Kurdish Media Foundation or in Swedish Stiftelsen Kurdisk Media.

Newroz means New Day in Kurdish and the channel operates from 10:00-21:00 CET.

Newroz TV broadcast current affair shows, documentaries, news and music in Kurdish, Persian and English languages.

Newroz TV can be seen on Hot Bird 8 satellite at 13°E and I believe Express A4 satellite at 14°W which I think would give easier reception in Kurdistan.

The satellite information given in the video suggests to me they are possibly moving to the Eurobird 9A satellite at 9°E from Hot Bird 8.

Not much else I know about the channel, I have no idea what music is played during the obvious patriotic type close down video, the Flag seems to be a unofficial alternative used by the Kurdish Parliament in Exile.

I guess the people seen in the video are martyrs for their cause maybe?

Thanks to Ian for recording this video and passing it along.

Cheers and enjoy

RTL Klub

RTL Klub is the second oldest commercial television channel in Hungary.

RTL Klub launched on October 6th 1997 only two days after the first commercial channel in Hungary TV2 launched, RTL Klub is the most watched channel in Hungary and caters to the 18-49 age group with US import, soaps, reality shows. game shows and sports.

RTL Klub can be seen in Hungary's capital Budapest on UHF Channel 24 and other transmitters in Hungary, as well as on cable and satellite television.

The Video

RTL Klub I've been told have a few different close down videos all with different themes, but this is the only one I have been able to record so far since it went free to air over the Christmas and New Year period of 2008.

Anyway playing in the background to wonderful shots of Hungarys countryside is the National Anthem.

Then into the final ident of the night and finally a PM554 test card over night.

Cheers and enjoy

SVT2 Close Down 2009

SVT2 is the second channel from Sweden's public television broadcaster Sveriges Television.

SVT2 focuses on cultural programming with shows for speakers of the Sami, Finnish and Sign languages with the odd film.

Sweden is now totally digital for television over the air using the DVB-T system, SVT2 can be seen in Stockholm on the SVT mux on UHF Channel 23 from the Nackasändaren transmitter, and with transmitters placed across the country.

SVT2 can also be seen various cable and satellite platforms in Sweden, as well as in Denmark and Norway in some areas over the air as well as on cable nationally, it is also available in Iceland, a great number of SVT produced shows can be watched online.

The History

SVT2 originally went on the air December 5th 1969 under the name TV2, there were calls for the second television station to be commercial in Sweden but this did not work out.

On July 1st 1987 Kanal 1 and TV2 purpose become some what unusual, Kanal 1 programming was direct from Stockholm while TV2 shows came from across the country and were meant to compete with each other.

In 1996 after commercial television was introduced SVT re branded Kanal 1 and TV2 to SVT1 and SVT2 and the operation of separate locations was abandoned.

SVT2 now continues to close down at night at around 1am, closing down is still quite common in the Nordic countries public broadcasters although SVT2 and RÚV Sjónvarpið from Iceland are the only channels to actually close to a test card, the others have some sort of rolling text service or music over night.

The Video

I will let this video speak for itself, although at the end it features a PM5644 wide-screen 16:9 Test Card.

The idents used on this video were introduced on August 25th 2008.

Thanks Ian for the video..
