UT1

UT1 is the first television channel in Ukraine, it is state owned and it is operated by The National Television Company of Ukraine.

UT1 broadcasts in Ukrainian and airs news broadcasts called simply News, cultural programming, sport and general all round entertainment.

UT1 can be seen in 97% of the Ukraine the largest coverage of any television broadcaster in the country.

UT1 can be seen in Ukraine's capital Kiev on VHF Channel 2 with a radiated power of 50kW's.

With obviously a lot of other transmitter sites, but can also be seen on cable and satellite television in the country.

UT1 on air goes by the name Перший канал which means First Channel, this is the common name for the channel.

UT1 does not go off air but at 09:00 (07:00 UTC in Winter Time) each morning they put aside 5 minutes of broadcast time for this national anthem video and taped in vision announcer telling us the following days programming.

Sometime this year hopefully The National Television Company of Ukraine will become a public broadcaster and the government will lose direct control.

The History

UT1 first went on the air on January 20th 1965.

Although I assume on not the current frequencies they use now since I guess they were taken up by the former Soviet Channel 1 and 2 in Russian.

UT1 had a sister station in UT2 till 2004 but this was taken off the and replaced with the commercial private broadcaster cunningly called Channel 1+1 which obvious equals 2, who took over its broadcast frequencies.

The Video

The style in this video is still very heavily influenced by the "socialist" days that's for sure.

Features the National Anthem of Ukraine as well as The Flag and the rest can be watched for yourself.

I really do like this video, one for the fact it has everything you would expect for a national anthem video and more, plus I have been trying to find a start up sequence from Ukraine for a very long time, so this pleases me a lot.

Twitter Feed?

Before I go, if any one is reading this far down.. would anyone like to see this blog get a twitter feed?

I would make little updates on what I am recording, what I have planned and of course have notification of when new videos are posted automatically.

If yes please leave a comment or simply email me, either will appear in my inbox.

I hope you all enjoy.

The Philippines - Sign-Off's - Audio

This is something different for this blog for sure.

These are a set of sign-off's from Filipino television in 2005-2006, more specially Metro Manila as audio recordings.

To listen to these recordings simply click on the title in the flash player.

I have listed these recordings by their channel number to make things look neater.

I would like to thank Irving Pentescoste for these recordings.

Not much else to say to be honest, I hope you enjoy listening to these...

XHST-TV Canal 13

XHST-TV Canal 13 is a Mexican broadcast television station licensed to broadcast to Mérida on VHF Channel 13 with a radiated power of 42.52kW's.

Mérida is the capital of the state of Yucatán.

XHST-TV is known on air as trecetv, trece meaning thirteen.

XHST-TV is a local public broadcast station that promotes the culture and values of the Yucatán, information on programs and workings of local and I guess national government, and to reach out to all social segments of the local population.

Which basically means they air documentaries and locally produced shows.

They seem to be networked at some portions of the day with XEIMT-TV Canal 22 in Mexico City which is a federally owned cultural and educational television station.

XHST-TV can also be seen in Mexico, the continental United States and Hawaii in C-Band on SatMex 6 Satellite at 113°W.

The Video

As always XHST-TV is required to conform to the broadcast laws of the Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico, this includes airing the National Anthem and Flag of Mexico.

After that a quicker filler video of shots from around Yucatán before they enter into their scheduled day.

I will let this video speak for itself..

I hope you all enjoy

DZKB-TV Channel 9

DZKB-TV Channel 9 is a Philippine broadcast television station licensed to broadcast to the Metro Manila region on VHF Channel 9.

DZKB-TV is the flagship station of the Radio Philippines Network.

Although it is known on as as C/S 9 due to partnership arrangements with Solar Entertainment Corporation who own the C/S branding and produces programming for the network.

DZKB-TV call signs stand for DZ for Luzon and KB for Kanlaon Broadcasting System.

Kanlaon Broadcasting System was the former name for the broadcast network.

Kanlaon is a Volcano on Negros Island in The Philippines.

DZKB-TV broadcasts a lot of imported US TV shows which over time has become famous for.

Also a lot of sport with a-lot of basketball from the PBA and the NBA.

DZKB-TV also broadcasts news programming, and has a very long running English newscast NewsWatch which is also the flagship newscast for the station.

In the mid nighties the station started a telenovela craze in the country.

In the past it used to air The Price is Right from the states, this show is a favourite of mine, although it now airs on DZRJ-TV channel 29 in Metro Manilla which an affiliate of 2nd Avenue which is owned by Solar Entertainment Corporation.

DZKB-TV Channel 9 first went on the air on June 29th 1960 branded as Kanlaon Broadcasting System.

This lasted till 1975 when it re branded as Radio Philippines Network which lasted till the station re branded as C/S 9 in October 2008, although I believe it is still technically the networks name.

The Video

This video is quirky to say the least, no official sign-off message is ever given, just a quick C/S 9 is now signing off and quickly into test card.

Sign-on is more interesting hence why I am featuring it, and the day this was recorded a few technical errors appeared.

First off we see the test card used during the time when DZKB-TV has no programming, although I don't think they actually shut down the transmitter for the need to have a sign-on message with technical details.

The test card then starts to have parts of the National Anthem begin to play over it, audio only, this was clearly a mistake.

Then the anthem stops and then the video and audio start up the National Anthem video produced by a number of government offices, and is used on quite a few stations.

Then a count down video that tells us CS/9 is signing on.

See other video from The Philippines click Here.

I must say I really do enjoy writing these posts and only one VHF station in DZTV-TV Channel 13 in Metro Manilla I have not posted, if anyone has a sign-on/off from them please email me.

Cheers and I hope you all enjoy.

Sudan TV

Sudan TV is the a National and International television channel from The Sudan National Broadcasting Corporation.

Sudan TV can be seen over the air in Sudan as well as internationally on various satellites targeting various areas of the world.

Sudan TV broadcasts in the Arabic language.

Sudan TV began broadcasting in 1962 and colour broadcasts began in 1976.

Sudan TV broadcasts news shows, prayers, Quran passages, calls for prayer, children's shows, talent contests, dramas and documentaries.

Sudan TV is subject to military censorship to make sure their news broadcasts reflect the governments current policies.

Not quiet sure what this video is, except is extremely patriotic and morale boasting and the fact it aired early morning I recorded it.

Yeah I know its a long video, song is quite catchy to, if anyone can speak Arabic please comment or email me on what the singer is singing about.

Cheers and I hope you all enjoy...

JOEX-DTV Channel 24

JOEX-DTV TV Asahi is a digital broadcast television station located in Tokyo Japan.

JOEX-DTV broadcasts on UHF Channel 24 and is the flagship station of the All-Nippon News Network and serves the Kanto region of Japan which includes the capital Tokyo.

I have already written about JOEX-DTV's analogue parent station in a previous post on this blog, so I do not think it is needed that I write any more than that.

To read that blog post please click Here.

I personally prefer this sign-off to their previous one used on JOEX-TV, its much more trippy.

Although that sign-off did contain an Emergency Warning System test and maybe needed to be more sombre.

If anyone can translate the Japanese text featured in this please comment or email me.

Cheers and enjoy.

Televizija Sarajevo

Televizija Sarajevo is a local television channel in Bosnia and Herzegovina capital Sarajevo.

I know little about Televizija Sarajevo really it was on the fly recording.

I discovered that Televizija Sarajevo had closed down with a test card for the night, so I set-up to record the channel and left it over night and in the morning found I had their start up sequence.

Televizija Sarajevo I guess can be seen terrestrially over the air in Sarajevo as well on the local cable systems as well now on-line through web streams.

I guess they go by the name TVSA as well as Televizija Sarajevo.

The Video

The video is quiet a long one, it does feature the National Anthem and CGI recreation of the Flag.

The national anthem video is very similar in nature to the national broadcaster BHT 1.

Originally the recording of this video was in stereo with the audio on the right channel and nothing on the left, but I had to change it to mono to not sound odd with stereo headphones.

Sorry for such a short post, I guess you can just enjoy the video.

Télé Tchad

Télé Tchad is the state television channel in the central African country of Chad.

Télé Tchad is operated by ONRTV which is the state national radio and television broadcaster.

Télé Tchad broadcasts in French and maybe a local language or two a mixture of programming alot of talk shows, cultural and local style musical programming, but I guess it also has a few news broadcasts.

The satellite signal is very weak for me here in South Wales so I have not spent alot of time watching it.

The signal is lost for me past around 12pm BST so I am unsure what time they actually start broadcasting, although I do know they close around 12am local time, which is also my night so signal level improves.

Télé Tchad has a high power transmitter in the capital N'Djamena on VHF Channel 7 with a radiated power of 50 kW's and also has local relays across the country.

Télé Tchad can also be seen on satellite in North Africa, Middle East and Southern Europe easily on the Nilesat 101 satellite at 7°W, the satellite can also be received in most of Europe with a large enough dish.

The channels mascot is a Grey Crowned Crane which can be found in Chad.

Hes featured in alot of places including the channels digital on screen graphic / bug.

ONRTV stands for L’Office National de Radiodiffusion et TéléVision du Tchad which translates to The Office of National Radio and Television of Chad.

ONRTV have a monopoly on television in the country I believe.

The History

Télé Tchad was set-up in 1987 making it one of most recently established national television channels in Africa, little else I know.

The Video

I guess this video is obvious, although I do like the final ident with the 3D logo with the Flag of Chad draped around and removed to real the logo.

I'm glad to be back, thanks for being so patient and I hope you all enjoy....
