Korean Central TV (DPRK) Close Down 2009

Korean Central Television, is a state television station from the DPRK or more commonly known as North Korea.

KCTV broadcasts news reports, shows on education, culture, economic affairs, cartoons and various other content.

KCTV broadcasts from 08:00 to 13:30 UTC which is 17:00 to 22:30 local time Monday through Saturday and 00:00 to 13:30 UTC which is 9:00 to
22:30 on Sundays, broadcast times mirror Sundays on key national holidays.

To read more about KCTV please click Here

I have never been able to view a close down from KCTV, I have had the privilege to view KCTV for a good number of hours at a time, but the broadcast is always cut long before the end of their broadcast day, so this is as much a treat for me as anyone else.

The Video

This video is more about presentation than anything I think and its a neat insight into the country.

The Flag of the DPRK is seen flying in a more conventional way in this video, unlike their start up in the link above.

Not sure the music being played over the flag, I am assuming someone can comment on that for me.

Thanks to Mark over at SatDirectory for this video.

If you would like to read a rough translation of what is going to be shown the next broadcast day please click here, credit to sstepski.

Please be aware of the file size of this video, so be patient when it buffers.

I hope you all enjoy...

RASD TV

RASD TV is a satellite television station broadcasting Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic or more commonly known as Western Sahara.

RASD TV airs Reading from the Quran, religious lectures, nature documentaries I assume a news broadcast but I did not see one.

RASD TV starts their broadcast day with this national anthem at 14:00 UTC/Local Time I am unsure when they close down.

RASD TV can be seen on the Intelsat 905 satellite at 24.5°W which covers most of Europe and what looks like the very north of the country.

I have no idea if they have any terrestrial broadcast sites, although airing a test card like that mainly suggest they do.

Over all the production quality of this channel is very poor, some of the audio distortion is incredibly bad, even resulting in echoes, let's hope they improve.

RASD stands for República Árabe Saharaui Democrática which is Spanish for Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The territory is a former Spanish colony and I assume Spanish is spoken widely, the channel website is also in Spanish.

The Video

First off we see a test card with the Coat of Arms of Western Sahara with local music playing.

Then the Flag appears and the National Anthem begins to play, and into the start of programming.

I hope you all enjoy.

ViVe

ViVe is a state owned cultural broadcaster in Venezuela.

ViVe broadcasts works of small and independent producers with a bare bones feel, with short documentaries and cultural and educational programming.

ViVe is available over the air but it seems not nationally, as well as on cable, pay satellite television and in the Americas free to air on C-Band satellite on NSS 806 at 40.5°W.

ViVe can be seen in the capital Caracas on UHF channel 25, with I guess either reception from out of the city or low powered relays for parts of the city on UHF channels 21 and 24.

ViVe tv stands for Vision Venezuela and was launched on November 11th 2003.

The Video

I will let this video speak for itself, it features the National Anthem of Venezuela and Flag.

As well as subtitles and signed for the deaf.

Not much else to be said to be honest, I hope you all enjoy....

JONR-DTV Channel 15

JONR-DTV is a digital commercial television station located in Osaka Japan.

JONR-DTV is branded on air as ABC which stands for Asahi Broadcasting Corporation.

JONR-DTV is an affiliate of the All-Nippon News Network which is operated by TV Asahi.

JONR-DTV is owned by Asahi Shimbun the second largest circulated national newspaper in Japan.

The History

JONR-TV its analogue parent station originally started broadcasting on VHF channel 6 on December 1tst 1956 under the call sign of JOBX-TV and owned by ABC and New Japan Broadcasting Company under the name Osaka Television.

It was fully acquired by ABC on March 1st 1959 and by June had fully merged the station with its radio station JONR, I assume this is the date it took the JONR-TV call sign and ABC name.

The Video

The video is very self explanatory, but the music used on it must be stock music because it is also used by NHK Education TV through-out its television stations in Japan.

This is the last video I have from Japan I am afraid so I hope you all enjoyed them.

Cheers...

Simaye-Azadi

Simaye-Azadi is a satellite television channel that is said to be operated by the People's Mujahedin of Iran

Basically broadcasting in Farsi with "News" Documentaries, Music and Social and Cultural programming.

Probably nearly all heavily slanted to their way of thinking, but that's just like every broadcast in the end.

It can be seen in Europe and the Middle East on Telstar 12 at 15°W and in North America on Galaxy 19 at 97.0°W.

Don't really know much about their cause or their beliefs, and don't want to go into them.

I have no idea where this channel is broadcasting from, but they do have a contract address in the United Kingdom.

It is a well produced video that is for, lots of patriotic images and rallies to their cause, and possible martyrs featured in the video.

Can't say much more really. cause that's all I have, not even sure on the music played.

Sorry for such a long wait for a new video, I have been feeling very unwell and needed to take a break from the blog.

Hope you all enjoy...

XHMNU-TV Canal 53

XHMNU-TV Canal 53 is a University run educational television station in Monterey Mexico.

XHMNU-TV is operated by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León which is the state university of Nuevo León.

XHMNU-TV can be seen on UHF Channel 53.

XHMNU-TV is a affiliate of the Edusat network as well produces its own educational programming from within the university.

XHMNU-TV is known on air as El Canal del Conocimiento which translates into English as The Knowledge Channel.

This video is a long one for sure and quite a hefty file size when buffering so please be patient with it.

The first part of this video is almost a promotional video and song for the university with various shots and things happening on campus.

The second video if your a long time reader of this blog you should know all broadcast media in Mexico are required to conform to the broadcast laws of the Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico, this includes airing the National Anthem and Flag of Mexico.

This is actually shot during what looks like the independence day celebrations on campus on September 16th 2008.

You get a nice shot of the Flag not doing much and a shot of a transmitter on top of one of the campuses buildings

Today is my blogs 18th month anniversary just a little bit of info.

I hope you enjoyed....
